Overview

When you receive promo items from brand partners, typically you want to avoid selling that inventory as part of your standard menu. Often, you may want to make those promo items available only as part of a bundle deal. With Treez Ecommerce, you can easily configure your website to hide promo products from your menu unless the associated bundle deal has been unlocked by a given shopper.

To do this, you have to set a Promo Price Threshold in your Treez Ecommerce Admin panel. Choose a threshold that is higher than the retail price you've set for your promo items and lower than the retail price of any other item you want to be available for purchase anytime. For example:

  • If you sell lighters for $2, you'll want to ensure that you've set all promo items and your Promo Price Threshold to a lower amount β€” e.g. $1

  • If your promo items are all priced at $0.01 and you don't carry any products for purchase that are priced for less than $1, you can freely set your Promo Price Threshold at $0.02, $0.50, or even $1 for this feature to work properly.

How to Set Your Promo Price Threshold

  1. In your org's Treez Ecommerce Admin panel, navigate to the Settings page through the gear icon in the lower left corner (URL: [your Admin panel URL]/settings).

  2. Click into Customization in the left hand Settings menu.

  3. Under the Global header, find Promo Units.

  4. Enter the amount for your Promo Price Threshold in this box. This amount should be at least one cent ($0.01) more than your promo items' retail prices, and less than any standard retail item's price. (e.g. if all your promo items are priced at $1 and you don't have any retail items priced below $1.01, enter $1.01 as your threshold amount.)

  5. Click Update to save your changes.

  6. Then, in the upper right corner, click on your Store Status dropdown menu to expand it.

  7. Find and click the Publish button to publish the changes to your website.

  8. You'll then see the status change from Online (green) to Building (yellow), meaning the site is updating. It will revert back to Online once the update has finished.

  9. Voila! Your new Promo Price Threshold is live. Check your site to ensure you no longer see promo items available for purchase on their own.
