Overview

When you're closed for a holiday or special event, it's important to turn off your online ordering system to avoid disappointing customers. Treez Ecommerce's Closures feature allows retailers to configure special closure dates, preventing shoppers from submitting orders when the store is closed for business.

How It Works

When you configure a closure date in Treez Ecommerce Admin, your website will block shoppers from submitting an order on that day. During closures, shoppers will still be able to browse your website and add products to their cart. Closures can be set for a single day or for multiple consecutive days.

If they attempt to checkout, they will see a screen displaying the closure name and note, as well as the expected next open date. Here is an example of what a New Years Day closure would look like to an online shopper:

Here is how that same example has been configured on the back end, in Treez Ecommerce Admin:

How to Set Up a New Closure

  1. Navigate to Treez Ecommerce Admin → Settings → Closures

  2. Click Add Closure

  3. Configure your closure’s settings, including a name and note that will be visible to online shoppers

  4. If your closure is for a full day, toggle All Day to On (green). If it's for a partial day, toggle All Day to Off (grey) and enter the start and end time of the closing period.

  5. Click Save to save your changes

  6. From the store status dropdown menu, click Purge Cache to push the changes to your site

  7. Voila! Shoppers will now be blocked from ordering during the closure time.
