How to Use the Customer Facing Display
1. Setting Up Your Customer Facing Display
If your store DOES NOT USE either the previous Pole Display or Pole Display light, follow these instructions to set up the hardware - Customer Facing Display - Hardware Setup Guide.
If your store CURRENTLY uses the previous Pole Display or Pole Display light features, then continue following the instructions below.
Note: Pole Display with the auto-scroll menu is not supported on iPads.
Pole Display, unlike Pole Display Light, supports the legacy Treez eCommerce auto-scroll menu.
In this enhanced Customer Facing Display, the auto-scroll menu on the Pole Display will be replaced with the customer Welcome Screen and Dynamic Promotions & Upsells features if enabled.
2. Setting Role-Based Permissions for Customer Facing Display
Below we have highlighted the the recommended roles and permissions that should be updated in order to use your CFD properly. You can access and set these permission by navigating to Organization Settings > Role Management.
CFD Permissions for FOH staff (Budtenders/Leads)
Use these permissions to allow FOH staff role to launch & interact with the CFD
Navigate to Sell Treez > Retail permissions
Enable “Pole Display” and/or "Pole Display Light"
CFD Permissions for Dispensary Admins & Managers
Use these permissions to allow Admins to upload custom welcome screens
Navigate to Configuration Management permissions
Enable "View Organization Configurations"
Enable "Update Front Facing Display Configurations"
Navigate to File Management permissions
Enable "Upload Front Facing Display Idle Image"
Use these permissions to allow the configuration of and Promoted Products carousels and TreezPay on the CFD
Navigate to Sell Treez > Configuration
Enable "Config Page"
3. Customizing Your Welcome Screen
Navigate to Treez Admin > Organization Settings > Front Facing Display.*
This feature requires the following role permissions:
Configuration Management
View Organization Configurations
Update Front Facing Display Configurations
File Management
Upload Front Facing Display Idle Image
Customize your CFDs with a branded welcome screen.
Pro Tip:
Every customer approaching the POS will see this image, so make the most of this real estate by carefully promoting loyalty programs, daily deals, and more.
4. Displaying Deals & Product Promotions
Daily Deals Banner
On a touch-enabled device, the deals banner will display automatically on the customer's live cart view on the CFD. Customers can click on the deals banner to display a list of active discounts applicable to them.
Adding a custom discount image is only supported on the central automatic discounts platform. If no custom discount image is available, the discount is displayed against a default green background.
Product Promotions Carousel
Navigate to SellTreez > Config Page > Point of Sale, and open the Front Facing Display drop-down.
Switch on the Enable FFD Product Promotions toggle.
Select up to three product discount groups or product collections to be featured for active promotion.
Product Groups can be created from Product > Discount Management > Product Groups.
Product Collections can be created from Product > Catalog Management > Collections.
Products with available inventory from each group or collection will be displayed in a randomly assorted order within the carousel.
Customers can click on More Information on the promoted product to view more product details. (Only available on touch-enabled devices.)
Pro Tip:
Create custom product groups specifically for display at the POS, such as quick-grab and high-margin products to help drive upsells.
Boost customer engagement by uploading high-quality images for promoted products, or enable the setting to automatically hide products without images from the carousel.
5. Enhancing Payment Transparency
Configure your CFD with TreezPay SDK to show your available payment types to customers who want to pay via card or ACH at the POS.
