The Cash Handling Dashboard provides the ability to monitor daily cash drawer activity, including shift summaries and detailed ticket data.

Log into the Latest Version of Treez and navigate to Retail Analytics > Accounting > Cash Handling.

Use the Date Range control to determine the shift days you'd like to include in your analysis. By default, this is set to the last one week of shifts.

Daily Cash Difference Timeline

In the first visual, you’ll find a daily timeline that displays the cash drawer ending difference balance — calculated as expected minus actual cash.

Each data section in the timeline reflects one shift. You can quickly identify overages or shortages at a glance. The employee name logged into the register for that shift will be visible on each section in the timeline, defined by a unique color in the overage or shortage bar.

Tip 💡 Employee Trend View

If you select a single employee and a large date range, the timeline will display that employee’s over/under trend across all their shifts. This is helpful for identifying patterns of consistent overages or shortages. Useful for coaching, auditing, or performance review purposes.

Shift Summary Table

Beneath the timeline, the Shifts table provides a summarized view of drawer activity for each shift. The following metrics are included:

  • Store Name

  • Shift Start

  • Shift End

  • Drawer Name

  • Employee Name

  • (Over | Under | Even) Icons

  • Shift Total Difference

  • Shift Total Expected

  • Shift Total Actual

Exporting the Shift Summary Table

When exporting this table using the “Export All Fields” option, you will receive a payment type breakout. For cash payment type, the export will include:

  • Expected

  • Actual

  • Difference

This allows for a more granular audit of all payment method totals used during each shift.

Ticket Details Table

At the bottom of the Cash Handling page is the Ticket Details table, which provides the most granular view of the day’s transactions.

For each cash drawer and employee, you’ll see:

  • Ticket Id

  • Ticket Total

  • Payment method

  • Payment amounts

This section is particularly useful for detailed transaction reviews or reconciliation.

Why use the Cash Handling Dashboard?
