Overview

You know your shoppers and know what product info is most important for them to search by, so customize filter names and the filter sort order based on how your customers shop. Clear, relevant filter labels and a shopper-first order reduce friction, improve product discovery, and can increase conversion.

How to Customize or Remove Filters Title Mapping

The Filter Title Mapping setting determines how filters appear in the Side Navigation of your eCommerce website.

  1. Log into your Treez Ecommerce admin dashboard

  2. Navigate to Settings → Customizations → Filters Title Mapping

    1. Locate the filter you want to rename

    2. Update the shopper-facing Display Name/Label for the filter.

      1. Important: Do not change the underlying key/slug/handle for the filter. Only change the display name so data and behavior remain intact.

    3. E.g. To update the “On Sale” display name, only update the “On Sale” text (e.g., change it to Specials!). Do not modify the “deals” portion.

    4. E.g. Update “deals” : “On Sale” to “deals” : “Specials!”

  3. To remove: delete “deals” : “On Sale” in the list.

    1. Ensure you do not remove the closing curly bracket (}) at the end of the string.

  4. Click the Update button & then Publish.

  5. Your updates will now appear in the Side Navigation of your Ecommerce website.

Important Notes

  • Renaming a filter does not change how it functions; it only changes what shoppers see.

  • Keep names short, clear, and consistent (e.g., “On Sale” vs. “Deals”).

How To Reorder your filters (Filter Sort)

To control the order that filters appear in the sidebar, edit the Filter Sort configuration.

  1. Log into your Treez Ecommerce admin dashboard

  2. Navigate to Settings → Customizations → Filter Sort

  3. Reorder the values in this field to your preferred order, keeping the CSV format.

    • The field expects a comma-separated list of filter keys/handles (not the display names).

    • Example: deals,thc,category,classification,brand,price,thc,effect,flavor,subType

    • Keep commas between values, no trailing comma, and use the exact keys as configured in your site.

  4. Save & Publish your changes.

  5. Refresh your storefront to confirm the new order.

Best practices

  • Put your most-used filters first (e.g., Category, Brand).

  • Group related filters together (e.g., THC with Price).

  • Keep display names concise and consistent.

  • Do not change keys/handles—only change display names and the sort order.

  • Test on mobile to ensure the order and labels fit smaller screens.

Why this matters

Tailoring filter names and their order aligns your storefront with how your customers actually shop. Clear labels and intuitive sorting help shoppers quickly narrow results, improving findability and driving higher engagement and conversion.
