Step-by-Step: Enable Cash Drawer in Epson Printing Preferences

  1. Open Windows Settings

    • Click the Start Menu

    • Select Settings

  2. Go to Printers

    • Click Bluetooth & devices

    • Select Printers & scanners

  3. Select Your Epson Printer

    • Click your Epson printer (for example: EPSON TM-m30)

    • Choose Printing preferences

  4. Open the Peripherals Tab

    • In the Printing Preferences window, click the Peripherals tab

    • From the dropdown, select Cash Drawer

  5. Enable the Cash Drawer

    • Set Cash Drawer #1 to Open

    • If you have a second cash drawer connected, you may also set Cash Drawer #2 to Open

  6. Set When the Drawer Opens

    • Under Timing, select Start of Document

    • This ensures the drawer opens automatically when a receipt prints (recommended setting)

  7. Save Your Changes

    • Click OK to save and close the window

What to Expect Next

Once saved, your cash drawer should open automatically whenever a receipt prints from this Epson printer.

If the drawer still does not open:

  • Confirm the drawer cable is connected to the cash drawer port on the printer (not Ethernet)

  • Make sure receipts are printing to the same printer the drawer is plugged into

  • Restart the printer and try again

If you need help testing the drawer or verifying hardware compatibility, contact support for assistance.
