Discount Scheduling Update: How to Set and Update End Dates

Written by Treez Support
Updated today

Overview

Discount schedules have been simplified to make it easier to understand when promotions run and stop.

Existing discount behavior has not changed. This update improves how new schedules are configured and displayed.

You can now quickly confirm whether a discount will stop by checking the End column in the discount list overview.

What to Check

Review your discounts and look for:

  • Discount List Overview shows End = N/A โ†’ The discount will continue indefinitely

  • Discount is applying every day instead of the expected schedule (e.g., weekly)

Example

A discount may be set to repeat weekly, but:

  • Applies every day up until a certain date

  • Then continues repeating afterward

If this does not match your intended behavior, the schedule should be updated.

How to Update a Discount Schedule

Follow the steps below based on how your promotion runs.

๐Ÿ” Repeating Promotions (Weekly, Specific Days)

Use this if your discount:

  • Runs on specific days (e.g., every Monday)

  • Repeats on a schedule

Important:
Preset repeat options (Daily, Weekly, Monthly) run indefinitely and do not include an end date. To set when a repeating promotion stops, you must use a Custom repeat schedule.

Steps:

  1. Open the discount

  2. Go to the Schedule section

  3. Set Repeat to Custom

  4. Configure the schedule

  5. Set an End condition (End Date)

  6. Save

๐Ÿ“… Continuous Promotions (Runs Every Day)

Use this if your discount:

  • Runs every day

  • Should stop on a specific date

Steps:

  1. Open the discount

  2. Go to the Schedule section

  3. Select Does not repeat

  4. Set an End Date

  5. Save

Why This Update Was Made

Scheduling has been simplified to:

  • Reduce confusion when setting up recurring promotions

  • Make it easier to see when discounts actually stop

  • Align the schedule configuration with how common industry discounts behave

Some existing discounts may be configured in a way where they:

  • Continue running beyond the expected end date, or

  • Apply every day before transitioning into a repeating schedule

Troubleshooting

My discount is still running after I set an end date

  • Make sure the correct schedule type is used:

    • Repeating โ†’ Custom with a set end date

    • Continuous (every day) โ†’ Does not repeat with a set end date

  • Save the discount after making changes

If the schedule does not update as expected:

  • Change the Repeat type and save

  • Then reconfigure the schedule

I set an end date before, but I donโ€™t see it now

The previous scheduling setup included a 'first' end date input that did not stop recurring promotions. That configuration may still affect how the discount runs today until the schedule is updated. The new schedule configuration and the End column in the overview now reflect when the discount actually ends, so you can quickly audit scheduled promotions that should end.
