An age gate is a digital checkpoint that confirms a user's age before granting access to specific online content or services, often requiring users to input their date of birth or select an age range. It's commonly used to restrict access to age-sensitive material and comply with legal regulations.

How to edit the “Age Gate” for Treez Ecommerce:

  1. Navigate to your Treez Ecommerce backend via Prismic

  2. Filter by the “Age Gate” custom type

3. Click on “Age Gate”

Next, edit the fields to match your requirements:

5. Add or remove background image and change background color

6. Change the type and minimum allowed age to meet your operation's requirements.

By altering the type, you determine if users input their birthdate.

7. Update the agreement text and/or the button text

8. Save and publish the changes

9. Check that the changes reflect correctly on the live site after publication

Age gates enforce age restrictions online, protecting minors and ensuring legal compliance. They verify users' ages, maintaining a safer digital environment.
