Overview

Data shows that pre-paid online orders result in a higher Average Order Value (AOV). With Treez Ecommerce, you can encourage customers to prepay by using the banner placement tool to display targeted messaging at checkout. These banners can promote incentives—such as discounts or loyalty points—for customers who choose to prepay.

Note: Card Not Present (CNP) orders consistently yield higher AOV than pay-at-pickup orders.

What Is a Pre-Payment Banner?

A payment banner is a visual asset that appears on the checkout page—just above your available Card Not Present (CNP) payment options. It’s an opportunity to drive action and highlight the benefits of prepayment (e.g., savings, reward points, convenience).

You can upload and manage this banner directly through the Treez Ecommerce Admin Dashboard.

How to Upload a Pre-Payment Banner

Follow these steps to create and configure your banner:

1. Design Your Banner

  • Recommended Specs:

    • Format: JPG or PNG

    • Optimal Size: 6:1 or 8:1 ratio

    • Use clear messaging and branding

2. Upload via the Admin Dashboard

  1. Log in to your Treez Ecommerce Admin Dashboard

  2. Navigate to the Checkout section in the left-hand menu

  3. Locate the ACH Payment Banner URL Configuration field

  4. Click Browse and select your banner image from your computer

  1. Click Update to save your changes

  2. Purge Cache to apply the changes immediately to the live site

3. Finalize the Incentive for Your Customer

Once you've promoted an incentive (like a discount or bonus loyalty points), ensure the customer actually receives it at the time of order fulfillment.

Options:

  • Manual Discount: Apply a one-time discount using a promo code at the register or in the POS system.

  • Loyalty Points: Add additional rewards or loyalty points to the customer’s profile directly in Treez.

Be sure to track the banner promotions and align them with your POS processes so staff can fulfill the promised incentive accurately.

That’s It!

Once saved and the cache is purged, your payment banner will appear at checkout—helping boost pre-paid order volume and customer engagement.

For best results, A/B test different incentives and placements over time.
