When managing sample or promotional units, you may want to prevent them from appearing on your Treez Ecommerce menu and any connected third-party ecommerce menus. Below are several ways to control product visibility depending on your setup.
Hiding Products on Treez Ecommerce
There are three primary methods to ensure sample or promotional units don’t appear on your Treez Ecommerce online menu:
Use Non-Sellable Inventory Locations
If you don’t intend to sell these units online or in-store, move them to a non-sellable inventory location.
Products stored in non-sellable locations will not appear on your ecommerce menu.
When you’re ready to make the units available to your budtenders or customers, move them back to a sellable location.

Set Prices Below the Promo Threshold
In your Treez Ecommerce Dashboard → Settings → Customizations, you can configure a PROMO Unit Price Threshold.
Any products priced below this threshold will automatically be hidden from your menu until:
A customer adds a qualifying BUY product to their cart, and
The promo item becomes available as a “GET” item.
This setting is ideal if you want to hide promo/sample units but still make them available as rewards in bundled offers.

Manually Hide Products
You can manually hide products using the “Hide from Menu” toggle:
Go to Inventory → Inventory Control.
Locate the product you’d like to hide.
Select the product name to open the Product Card.
Enable the Hide from Menu toggle.
Once toggled on, the product will no longer appear on your Treez Ecommerce menu.

Hiding Products on Third-Party Ecommerce Integrations
If you’re connected to other ecommerce platforms, there are additional steps to ensure promo/sample units don’t appear on their menus:
Understand Product Sync Timing
Most integration partners perform a product list sync once per hour.
If your promo/sample unit is in a sellable location during a sync, it may temporarily appear on the menu.
The product will remain visible until the next sync unless you move it to a non-sellable location before the next scheduled update.
Check Your Default Receiving Location
Some integration partners reference specific inventory locations when determining whether a product is sellable.
If the product is received into a sellable location and the partner performs their product sync at that time, they may pick up that the product is sellable.
If the product is moved to a non-sellable location a few moments later, it would not be removed from the menu until the partner’s next product sync.
Keep Inventory Out of Sellable Locations
If inventory is stored in a non-sellable location, Treez reports a sellable quantity of zero to your integration partners via the API.
This prevents products from being displayed or ordered on any connected online menus.
Use “Hide from Menu” for Integrated Partners
You can also use the “Hide from Menu” toggle on the product card.
Important: This method only works if your integration partner’s API respects the “Hide from Menu” parameter.
Check with your integration partner to confirm this capability.
Best Practices
Always double-check inventory locations before uploading promo units.
Keep promo prices below the threshold to automate hiding in Treez Ecommerce.
Confirm whether your integration partners support the “Hide from Menu” parameter.
If you’re unsure, it’s safest to store promo/sample units in non-sellable locations until you’re ready to release them.
