TreezPay SMS Paylink Notifications allow retailers to automatically send secure payment links via text message (SMS) to their customers through ticket-event based triggers in Treez. This enables seamless remote payments and helps retailers increase sales conversion, accelerate checkout, and create a more flexible shopping experience.

Version Support

  • v1 (68.6.0):

    • Supports SMS paylinks through the default ACH provider only.

    • Designed for ACH-based CNP payment workflows.

  • v2 (68.10):

    • Expands support to all Card-Not-Present (CNP) providers in the TreezPay network that offer SMS paylink capabilities.

    • Introduces configuration controls in the TreezPay Portal allowing retailers to designate their default SMS paylink provider.


How to Configure v2 (latest)

TreezPay Portal: Establish Default SMS Paylink Provider

  1. In TreezPay Portal > Payment Configurations > Desired SMS Provider

  2. Scroll down to "Default Configurations"

  3. Enable "Set to Default Paylink Provider"

Note: For convenience, your default provider settings will now appear on your Payment Configuration > Home Page

SellTreez Create SMS Type Notification

  1. Navigate to SellTreez > Configurations > Config Page > Notifications

  2. Create a new Notification

  3. Select notification type = "SMS"

  4. Set desired ticket conditions

    1. Order Status

    2. Notification Time Range

    3. Order Type

    4. Order Source

  5. Toggle "Active"

Configuration Notes

  • You can only create SMS paylink type notifications for UNPAID orders

  • Custom messaging is not available for SMS paylink type notifications

    • SMS copy is derived from the payment providers and varies by provider

  • **IMPORTANT** (Stronghold Only)- Deactivate Stronghold webhooks before activating SMS paylink notifications

    • Having both active concurrently will result in conflicting issues with the order's associated charge

    • Configurations > Config Page > Integrations > Webhooks > Deactivate Stronghold

Best Practices

  • Consider creating a companion email notification that’s triggered just before or alongside the SMS paylink notification to provide customers with additional order context.

    • Pay provider SMS messaging varies by provider, and in some cases, wont contain any order details.

  • For Delivery order types, if ACH paylink, set the the notification to be sent to an earlier fulfillment stage to allow ample time for payment submission before ticket is moved into pre-set capture state.

    • Note: If payment authorized after ticket moved into capture state, Treez will still call to capture on complete.
