The SellTreez Retail iPad app brings you the SellTreez point of sale on any Apple tablet. It has been designed to seamlessly provide you the same experience as the desktop version you know and love, with the flexibility and portability of an iPad.

Supported Hardware

The SellTreez Retail app is currently only compatible with the hardware listed below. We are currently working to expand the available options and will be adding new supported printers and scanners soon.

iPads

Only iPads are supported; at this time iPhones aren't compatible with the SellTreez Retail App due to screen size limitations.

  • Recommended: iOS 13.3.x or above

Only networked Zebra label printers are supported. USB-only label printers are not supported.

Zebra Bluetooth Barcode Scanners

  • DS2278 (Bluetooth)

The DS9208 (USB version) is not supported because the iPad Lightning port doesn't supply enough power to run the barcode scanner.

External Keyboards

Bluetooth keyboards may be used with the SellTreez Retail iPad app for easy data entry, such as capturing notes or searching for customers by name.

Setting up the iPad App

Logging-in

Open the SellTreez Retail app and log in with the same username and password you use to access your Treez portal from a desktop.

Setting-up Receipt Printers

LAN Connection

Obtain the Printer’s IP Address

Tip: These instructions are applicable only to the supported LAN Receipt printers (TSP100III futurePRNT [LAN] and mC-Print3).

Step 1: Turn the receipt printer OFF.

Step 2: Push and hold the feed button while turning the printer ON.

Step 3: Wait for the 'Current IP Parameters Status' to print.

Step 4: Record the result shown in the 'IP Address' field.

Connect Printer to SellTreez iPad App

Step 5: Open the SellTreez Retail app. On the Customer Queue screen, select No Customer to proceed with set-up.

Step 6: Open the side menu by clicking the menu icon in the upper left-hand corner of the screen and select iPad Hardware.

Step 7: Select LAN Auto-Discovery which will attempt to automatically locate the correct printer.

  • If the printer is found, select it to finish receipt printer set-up, and move on to Step 9.

  • If the printer isn't shown on the list, select Manual IP Entry, and move to Step 8.

Step 8: Enter the printer's IP Address. Once the printer is displayed, confirm it is the correct model.

Step 9: Press Test Receipt to verify the printer works, and ensure there is a blue checkmark next to the selected printer.

Step 10: Click Save in the upper right-hand corner.

Bluetooth Connection

Bluetooth printers have a range of about 30 ft.

Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPad and select Bluetooth.

Step 2: Locate the printer in the 'OTHER DEVICES' section. Tap the printer to move it to the 'MY DEVICES' section.

Step 3: Open the SellTreez Retail app. On the Customer Queue screen, select No Customer to proceed with set-up.

Step 4: Open the side menu by clicking the menu icon in the upper left-hand corner of the screen and select iPad Hardware.

Step 5: In the 'Receipt Printers' section press '+'.

Step 6: Select Bluetooth, and then select the correct printer.

Step 9: Press Test Receipt to verify the printer works, and ensure there is a blue checkmark next to the selected printer.

Step 10: Click Save in the upper right-hand corner.

Setting-up Label Printers

Obtain the Printer’s IP Address

ZD 410

Step 1: Turn on the printer and wait for the Network icon on the right-hand side to turn green.

Step 2: Press and hold the 2 buttons on the right-hand side of the printer: Feed and X.

Step 3: Wait for the 'Network Configuration' to print.

Step 4: Record the result shown in the 'IP Address' field. Then, continue to Step 5 below.

LP 2824 Plus

Step 1: Turn on the printer.

Step 2: Press and hold the green button on the top of the printer until it blinks once then release.

Step 3: Wait for the 'Network Configuration' to print.

Step 4: Record the result shown in the 'IP Address' field. Then, continue to Step 5 below.

Connect Printer to SellTreez iPad App

Step 5: Open the SellTreez Retail app. On the Customer Queue screen, select No Customer to proceed with set-up.

Step 6: Open the side menu by clicking the menu icon in the upper left-hand corner of the screen and select iPad Hardware.

Step 5: In the 'Label Printers' section press '+'.

Step 6: Select which size labels this printer uses.

Step 7: Enter the printer's IP Address, then click Add.

Step 8: Press Test Label to verify the printer works, and ensure there is a blue checkmark next to the selected printer.

Step 9: Click Save in the upper right-hand corner.

Setting up Barcode Scanners

Resetting and Putting the Scanner into Pairing Mode

Tip: It is important to scan all these barcodes in the order below.

Step 1: Scan this barcode to reset the scanner.

Pairing the Scanner with your iPad

Step 4: Open the Settings app on your iPad and select Bluetooth.

Step 5: Locate the scanner in the 'OTHER DEVICES' section. Tap the scanner to move it to the 'MY DEVICES' section.

Enabling the Built-in On-Screen Keyboard

NOTE: This procedure is for a 13.3.x device that has been connected to a Bluetooth barcode scanner.

Step 1: Select a text field, such as the 'Search Customers', 'Search Products', or 'Order Notes' field. A toolbar will pop up on the bottom of the screen. If the toolbar does not pop up, scan a barcode into the text field to force the toolbar to appear.

Step 2: Located on a bar in the lower-right corner of the screen, hold down the rightmost downward-facing arrow, quickly releasing it after 1-2 seconds until the on-screen keyboard appears.

Step 3: To hide the keyboard, click on an inactive portion of the screen or select the downward-facing arrow located on the top-right corner of the keyboard.
