Determining Which Allotment Applies
When a product is added to a cart, Treez uses its METRC item category to determine which configured purchase limit applies. It does not use the Treez Product Type or Subtype to make that determination.

Determining How Much of an Allotment is Applied
The field Treez uses depends on the product’s METRC item category:
Flower/Bud, Raw Single Serving Unit, and Shake/Trim (For Retail): Treez uses the original package weight provided through METRC, multiplied by the number of units sold.
Plant Material for Vaporization, including Tier I and Tier II: Treez uses the Amount and unit of measure on the Treez product card, multiplied by the number of units sold. These categories are an exception to the METRC-weight calculation above.
Non-Flower categories: Treez uses the original unit THC-content value and unit of measure provided through METRC, multiplied by the number of units sold and converted to grams for comparison with the Non-Flower limit. It does not use the product’s package weight for these categories.
Clones, live plants, and seeds: Treez counts the number of units sold toward the Plants limit. For example, a seed package sold as one unit counts as one unit in this calculation.
The Ohio configuration applies a 1:1 multiplier to each of these category calculations; it does not assign an additional flower-equivalency multiplier.
Adult-Use and Medical Limits
Treez’s configured adult-use limits are 70.75 g Flower, 15 g Non-Flower, and 6 Plants per calendar day.
For medical sales, the configuration contains 283 g Flower, 60 g Non-Flower, and 6 Plants. Staff confirm the patient’s remaining Flower and Non-Flower balances in OARRS and enter those amounts in the patients allotment popup when being checked in or added to a cart in POS. Treez calculates the current sale against the confirmed remaining balances entered by the licensee; it does not retrieve those balances from METRC or automatically deduct purchases already reflected in the amount staff entered. The 6-Plant limit continues to operate as a calendar-day limit.
Why Treez Uses Different Fields
Whenever possible, Treez attempt to use METRC supplied values when calculating purchase limits. However, not all METRC item types contain the required data to calculate purchase limits. Generally speaking, the following formula is used to determine how much is added to a customers allotment for each item that is added to a cart:
Count based (Each) concentrate METRC products will use the Unit THC Content as it appear is METRC.
Count based (Each) flower products will use the Unit Weight as it appears in METRC.
Weight based products will use the user defined Amount and Unit of measurement entered into Treez as Unit THC Content and Unit Weight fields are not available in METRC for these types of products.
