An ACH return refers to a situation where a request for payment via ACH is sent back or returned by the customer’s bank to the merchant.

A return indicates that the ACH payment could not be successfully processed and settled.

Common reasons for ACH returns include issues with the customer’s account, insufficient funds, incorrect account information, or authorization problems.
