Question:
How do I duplicate or clone a role in Role Management in the Latest Version of Treez?
Answer:
Duplicating a role allows you to quickly create a new role that mirrors the permissions of an existing one. This is especially useful when you need similar roles with slightly different levels of access.
Prerequisite: The user performing this action must have the Create Role permission.
Steps to Duplicate a Role
Navigate to Role Management.
Locate the role you want to duplicate and click the three dots (kebab) icon to the right.
Select “Duplicate” from the flyout menu.
In the Add New Role screen:
Enter a Name (required).
Enter a Description (optional).
Click “Next.”
On the Permissions screen, check or uncheck permissions to customize the new role to meet business needs.
Click “Finish” to create the new role and save its permission assignments.
Important: No data is saved until you complete the Add User Role workflow and click “Finish.” If you navigate away or close the screen before finishing, the new role will not be saved.
Additional Notes:
To return to the User Role Info screen before saving, click the “User Role Info” button in the bottom left of the Permissions screen.
To discard changes at any time, click “Close” in the top left corner of the screen.
