Some categories of Metrc Items (Flower, Pre-Roll Flower, Pre-Roll Leaf, Kief, Leaf, and all Plants) require you to assign a Strain before you can finish creating the item.

Treez will create strains in your Metrc portal for all the Flower and Preroll products that are imported during your switch onto Metrc. Strains can be reused across as many products as you like, so any new Items with a strain you've carried before can use the existing Strain.

However, if you bring in a new Item in the categories above and the item is a strain you've never carried before, you'll need to follow the instructions below before creating your new Item.

Step 1: Log in to your Metrc portal and navigate to Admin > Strains.

Step 2: Click the Add Strains button on the left-hand side of your screen.

Step 3: Enter the Strain's name in the 'Name' field.

Step 4: The 'Testing' field is optional and denotes whether or not this strain has been tested. If the strain hasn't yet been tested, select 'None'. If the strain has been tested, select 'InHouse' or 'ThirdParty', wherever the testing was completed.

NOTE: The information entered in this field doesn't have any effect on fulfilling state testing requirements.

Step 5: The 'THC' and 'CBD' fields are also optional. If you choose to enter a potency figure here, enter the average percentage of each cannabinoid by weight.

Step 6: Use the sliders to indicate the level of Indica and Sativa for this strain.

Step 7: To create more than one Strain at a time, click the blue + button and repeat Steps 3-6 until you've created all your desired strains.

Step 8: Click the green Create Strains button.
