How do I force scan inventory?

Answer:

There are two separate sections for managing the Require Scanning POS setting, one for the SellTreez POS and the other for the Fulfillment screen only.


Require Scanning in POS

Under Config Page > Point of Sale > Point of Sale, you’ll find the Require Scanning POS option.

  • When enabled, staff must scan barcodes to add items to a ticket.

  • The ability to manually add products to a ticket line is hidden.

  • This helps ensure accuracy, prevents mistakes, and enforces compliance by tying sales directly to tracked inventory.


Require Scanning in Fulfillment Processing

Under Config Page > Fulfillment > Processing Orders, the Force Barcode Scan setting provides similar functionality.

  • Requires staff to scan barcodes when adding products or selecting packages during order processing.

  • Helps ensure the correct product batch/package is used to fulfill each order.

Note: For Fulfillment, there is the option to specify certain Product Types to 'skip' Barcode scanning in case some items may not have a barcode to scanb(such as Bulk Flower or Merch items).
