Decline Reason

Explanation

N7: Decline for CVV2 failure (VN7)

The CVV number that was entered is incorrect, ask the customer to retry with the same card and retry entering the CVV number.

59: Suspected fraud (V59)

The card holder’s bank or credit institution declined the transaction for fraud reasons. Some card holders will receive a text message or phone call to confirm that it was them that attempted to do the transaction. Request the card holder to try again or try a new card. If still same issue still persists, request to stop and pay with cash.

Bad Request from Bank

Issue with processing the card, request the client to pay with new card or with cash.

T3: Lost card (Lost/stolen card or invalid PIN) (MT3) OR Lost card (Transaction not permitted with card) (MT3)

Issue with MasterCard. Some credit cards, debit cards, or pre-paid cards are not accepted. Request the card holder to try a new card or pay with cash.

51: Not sufficient funds (V51)

The card holder does not have funds in their bank account or credit card to cover the cost of the transaction. The card holder will need to add balance or pay with new card.

51: Insufficient funds (M51)

The card holder does not have funds in their bank account or credit card to cover the cost of the transaction. The card holder will need to add balance or pay with new card.

05: Do not honor (V05)

The card holder’s bank or credit institution declined the transaction for fraud reasons. Some card holders will receive a text message or phone call to confirm that it was them that attempted to do the transaction. Request the card holder to try again or try a new card. If still same issue still persists, request to stop and pay with cash.

82: Negative Online CAM; dCVV; iCVV; CVV results, or Offline PIN authentication interrupted (V82)

The CVV number that was entered is incorrect, ask the customer to retry with the same card and retry entering the CVV number.

57: Transaction not permitted to cardholder (M57)

The card holder’s bank or credit institution declined the transaction. The card holder should contact their bank or credit institution or try new card.

78: Blocked; first used - transaction from new cardholder; and card not properly unblocked (V78)

The card holder’s bank or credit institution declined the transaction. The card holder should contact their bank or credit institution or try new card.

57: Transaction not permitted to cardholder (V57)

The card holder’s bank or credit institution declined the transaction. The card holder should contact their bank or credit institution or try new card.

03: Invalid merchant (V03)

The card holder’s bank or credit institution declined the transaction. The card holder should contact their bank or credit institution or try new card.

46: The account is closed (V46)

The card holder’s bank or credit institution reported the card as inactive. The card holder should contact their bank or credit institution or try new card.

12: Invalid transaction (V12)

The card holder’s bank or credit institution declined the transaction. The card holder should contact their bank or credit institution or try new card.

R1: Revocation of authorization order (VR1)

The card holder’s bank or credit institution declined the transaction. The card holder should contact their bank or credit institution or try new card.

61: Exceeds withdrawal amount limit (M61)

The card holder’s bank or credit institution declined the transaction for exceeding the spending limit. The card holder should contact their bank or credit institution or try new card.

19: Re-enter transaction (V19)

Issue with processing the card, request the client to try again or try new card.

14: Invalid account number (no such number) (V14)

The card holder’s bank or credit institution declined the transaction. The card holder should contact their bank or credit institution or try new card.

54: Expired card or expiration date missing (V54)

The card holder’s card is expired, or the terminal is unable to extract the data for the transaction. Ask the card holder to check the expiration date on their card. If the card is still valid and the transaction is still encountering an error, try a new card.

61: Exceeds approval amount limit (V61)

The card holder’s bank or credit institution declined the transaction for exceeding the spending limit. The card holder should contact their bank or credit institution or try new card.

65: Exceeds withdrawal frequency limit (V65)

The card holder’s bank or credit institution declined the transaction for exceeding the spending limit. The card holder should contact their bank or credit institution or try new card.

62: Restricted card (card invalid in region or country) (V62)

The card holder’s bank or credit institution declined the transaction. The card holder should contact their bank or credit institution or try new card.

error: error, action code not found

Recommend the card holder to try again or try new card. If still same issue still persists, request to stop and pay with cash.

63: Security violation (may also be a chargeback) (M63)

The card holder’s bank or credit institution declined the transaction for security reasons, request the customer to try a new card.
