Treez allows retailers to create products within the Treez POS as any given Inventory Type and Subtype to determine which Allotment the Product Applies to as well as to help retailers correctly categorize their inventory products to better serve their Online Menus and provide their customers more detailed information than can be provided by the state tracking system alone.

When a retailer correctly categorizes an Infused Preroll as the Preroll Category and the Infused subtype, Treez will correctly apply the ‘usableweightperunit’ from BioTrack to the Concentrate Allotment. If the BioTrack inventory is Incorrectly categorized as Type 31 Marijuana Mix Packaged (mixed packaged flower), BioTrack will apply the ‘usableweightperunit’ from BioTrack to the Flower limit as that is how the inventory is categorized in the State Tracking system. While this is incorrect, BioTrack has no way of knowing this item should be an Infused Preroll as the responsibility to correctly and accurately categorize products in the state tracking system resides with the Licensee that created them.

When the above situation occurs, Treez will display the purchase allotment as going against the Customers Concentrate limit to ensure retailers are accurately abiding by Illinois state regulations as they relate to purchase allotments. This helps prevent over selling of concentrate items through the Treez POS.

Unfortunately, this does create a difference between the state tracking system and Treez POS, even though Treez POS is accurately tracking the allotments for the sale based on its Type and Subtype. When the sale is submitted to BioTrack, BioTrack will use the Inventory Type recorded in the state tracking system and will apply the ‘usableweightperunit’ to the flower Allotment.

While this does create a difference between Treez and BioTrack, Treez believes it is extremely important to categorize these items as correctly as possible within our software to help further safe and compliant access to Cannabis in the state of Illinois.
