Product Collections group products and SKUs so you can control which items are eligible for a discount. A Product Collection does not apply a discount by itself; it defines the products that qualify when the collection is added to a discount.
You can create collections manually by selecting products or automatically by configuring product rules.
Choose a Manual or Automated Collection
The right collection type depends on whether you want to select products yourself or have Treez maintain the collection using the product rules you have configured.
Use this collection type when you want to… | Manual | Automated |

Understand the Checkbox Behavior
Checkboxes behave differently depending on the collection type:
In a manual collection, select the checkbox next to each product or SKU you want to include.
In an automated collection, products matching the rules are included automatically. Clearing the checkbox next to an eligible product manually excludes it from the collection.
Use a Manual Collection When
Use a manual collection when you need precise control over the products and SKUs included. This works best for a fixed or highly curated list, especially when the selected products do not share attributes that can be represented by automated rules.
Manual collections require ongoing maintenance. New products and SKUs are not added automatically.

Use an Automated Collection When
Use an automated collection when products can be identified using consistent catalog attributes, such as brand, category, SKU Name, or price. Treez automatically evaluates the rules as your catalog changes, allowing qualifying products to enter the collection without being manually selected.
Automated collections are best for product groups that need to remain current as products are added or updated. You can also use exclusion rules and manual exclusions to remove products that should not be included.

Important Considerations
Updating a manual or automated collection may change which products qualify for discounts or promotions that use the collection. A collection that is associated with a discount cannot be deleted. Review connected discounts and the resulting product eligibility before making significant rule changes.
