ProductA product has a brand, flavor, size, packaging, etc. For example, a 12oz can of lime LaCroix or a 0.5G Sour Diesel Pax pod. In other words, a product houses information that doesn't change from purchase to purchase — it’s the name/info you enter for a specific item in Treez. A single product can be associated with many packages of inventory. Learn more.
Product SKU/Barcode (Manufacturer's SKU/barcode)This is the SKU/barcode the manufacturer gives each product they produce. It’s most often printed on the product’s packaging. For example, Korova Peanut Butter Mini Cookies have a product SKU. Korova Toffee Mini Cookies have different product SKU.
InventoryThe total number of units you have of a particular product. When you place an order with a vendor, you're ordering a specific amount of inventory of a given product. For example, you carry the Kiva Chocolate bar product in your shop and you currently have 40 total bars in your inventory. Learn more.
Inventory SKU/Barcode (Treez SKU/Barcode)This is a barcode label that prints when you add inventory to Treez and should be affixed to each individual inventory item. It holds information about both the product and the package it originated from. Attaching an inventory label to each unit and scanning it at checkout is paramount to staying compliant in a track-and-trace state.
Metrc Package TagA package is a tracked group of inventory items from a manufacturer. Each package requires a unique 24-digit Metrc package tag. Metrc tags are how Metrc knows specific information about a package, like the origin, THC content, etc.
For example, you order 150 units of 3.5G Sour Diesel. It arrives in one shipment but contains 3 packages each associated with different lab results and with their own unique Metrc tag. Learn more.
Batch (Batch labels)If you want to split a package into smaller groups, you can create a batch. For each batch you create, you can print a Treez batch label that can be scanned to identify defining characteristics about the particular shipment of inventory, like the number of units in the batch and the package it originated from. Learn more.
NOTE: Splitting a package into batches only splits in Treez, not Metrc or any other external integration.
TraceTreez ID (TTID)In the absence of Metrc or other state tracking systems, each package of inventory will be assigned a unique TraceTreez ID (TTID). The Treez Inventory barcode contains the TTID, so when the barcode is scanned, Treez can easily discern which package an item originated from. Learn more.
METRC (Marijuana Enforcement Tracking Reporting Compliance)Metrc stands for "Marijuana Enforcement Tracking Reporting Compliance" and is used to monitor the movement and sale of cannabis. Operators in Metrc states (which include California, Michigan, and others) are required to use the system to report their inventory and sales activity to state regulators. Its main goal is to "track and trace" all cannabis products from "seed to sale" and prevent diversion of product into the unregulated market. It also encourages accountability and responsible business practices by all operators in the commercial cannabis supply chain. Learn more.
ManifestA document that contains all the information about the packages in a transfer/shipment from one licensee to another (product names, amounts, driver info, etc). Manifest’s are required in California. You will either be accepting manifests in Metrc created by distributors or creating your own in Metrc if your distributor does not have a permanent annual Metrc license and you (the retailer) do. Learn more.
TransferThis is a Metrc term that refers to the movement of packages (cannabis product) from one licensee to another. When a transfer is performed, the ownership of the goods is transferred between licenses. It can only be performed by a company with a Laboratory or Distributor license (in CA). This occurs any time you get product delivered, return products to vendors, or transfer to other stores. Learn more.
