When scanning an identification card (IDs) or a driver’s license to check a customer in, SellTreez uses the 2D barcode on the back of the license to capture customer data for their profile. However, there are some IDs which are currently unsupported by the system and may cause SellTreez to need to be restarted if scanned. For example,
- Some state DL's / ID's
- Some Real ID cards
- Some Military ID,
- Some Passport ID Cards
- Some foreign documents
TIP: For unsupported ID's or if you are simply have trouble scanning an ID, it is always advisable to create the customer manually or update the existing customer manually.
If you accidentally scan one of these documents, please follow this process:
- Restart SellTreez Intake and enter the customer information manually to create a profile.
- Open a blank note on your computer and use your intake scanner to scan the ID into the note (The ID information will look like many alphanumeric characters.)
- Take a high-resolution image, such as a photo or flatbed scan, of the ID.
- Send the note and image you collected above to email@example.com so we can look into the issue further and confirm whether the ID is supported or not in SellTreez and for possible remediation in a future update.
