Merging customer profiles will sync data scattered across both into one and prevents a customer from having multiple logins and passwords.
To begin merging two profiles:
Step 1: Get the Membership IDs for both profiles. It can be found in the upper-left of the customer profile.
Step 2: Determine which profile will be deactivated (Donor /Duplicate Profile) and which will be kept (Target Profile).
Step 3: Navigate to Configuration > Advanced Configurations.
Step 4: Enter the Duplicate and Target profile Membership IDs into their respective fields.
Step 5: When prompted, confirm the stated merging action and click OK.
Step 6: Navigate to the updated Target profile.

Customer Merge Logic Explained
When combining data across two customer profiles, there are 3 different possible merging behaviors, depending on the field.
For most of the information, we first look to the Target profile to see if the field is filled out and is valid. If so, that value will be kept in the Target profile. If not, it is pulled from the Donor profile and then added to the Target profile.
With other fields, like ‘reward dollars’ for example, we combine the values from both Target and Donor profiles.
Lastly, in a few cases, like ‘last visit’, we compare the Target value to Donor and select the most applicable date.
Merging Behavior in Detail
If the field is filled out and is valid in the Target Profile, keep the value in the resulting profile. If not, apply the value from the Donor profile instead. | |||
